New Podcast, New Patreon!
Landline with Mary Mahoney is out today! We're talking American Girl, figure skating, Michelle Kwan! What more could you want?
This is a free post for subscribers of Landline, a pop culture and history newsletter for people who care about the Titanic, and the Kate Winslet vehicle of the same name. Landline is entirely reader-supported. Join my Patreon and help support my work (there is a free and paid tier).
Hi Everyone, I just wanted to write and share that my new podcast, Landline with Mary Mahoney, is out today! I am so excited to have a space where I can deep dive on what’s going on in pop culture with some context. I am thinking about this show like a phone call with a friend, or a group chat with footnotes. Every episode, I call someone and get into a topic in pop culture that I’m obsessed with. Together, we try to understand it with some context. First up: deep diving on the recent revisions to Kirsten Learns a Lesson with my friend Colette (who appeared on Dolls of our Lives!) and an episode on figure skating with journalist Maura Sullivan Hill.
I have really missed podcasting, and hope you’ll check out my new show! You can find it here.
I also have a new Patreon where free members can get a weekly newsletter from me with hot takes on topics in pop culture and history and get my biweekly podcast episodes. For $5/month, you can get my weekly newsletter of things I’m loving in pop culture, a monthly bonus episode, and access to my AIM Buddy List where I’m chatting with everyone on all things pop culture. On February 17th, we’ll be watching the women’s figure skating short program in the Olympics. I hope you’ll join me!
I recently went full time on podcasting and writing, and really appreciate your support in getting to continue to bring you pop culture writing and podcasts!
IMPORTANT! You can join me on Patreon right now!
You’re getting free access to Patreon
As a thank you for all your support, all current Substack subscribers are receiving free access to my full Patreon membership — this includes all the benefits in the AIM Buddy List tier (see below).
The amount of free access you receive depends on your current Substack subscription.
Free subscribers - 1 free month
Monthly subscribers - 2 free months
Annual subscribers - the remaining time on your Substack subscription PLUS 2 months
This week, you should have received an email from me (sent by Patreon) with a special link to redeem your free access. Redeeming your access is easy, but here are a few important notes:
If you can’t find the email, look for a message from Patreon (no-reply@patreon.com) with the subject line that starts with “Claim Your Free”.
You must redeem the gift using the same email address associated with your Substack account — the one where you received the gifting email.
If you already have a Patreon account under a different email address, please follow these steps to claim your access.
If you’re still running into issues → submit a support request
